How are we doing?
Total Atlanta region spending on operating parks and recreation facilities in the 10-county region added up to more than $140 million in 2007. This total includes general revenues, revenue bonds, Special Option Local Sales Taxes (SPLOST) and capital improvement funds.
Depending upon the scale and requirements of the projects being funded at the time, these figures can fluctuate quite dramatically from year to year. However, overall comparison of budgets from 2004 to 2007 indicates that park spending has remained consistent throughout the region.
